The award will be presented at the Beauty Changes Lives Gala on May 31, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.
The Legacy of Mr. Minh Tam Nguyen
Mr. Minh Tam Nguyen, fondly known as the “Godfather of the Nail Industry,” lived by the mantra, “Wherever you go, go with all your heart.” As an immigrant to the United States, he laid the foundation for Vietnamese-American success, transforming nail artistry into a professional career. His legacy is lovingly continued by his children, Tam Nguyen and Linh Nguyen, through their leadership at Advance Beauty College.

Under the guidance of Tam and Linh Nguyen, Advance Beauty College has been a beacon of education and opportunity for the Vietnamese community. With campuses in Southern California, the college has trained tens of thousands of professionals who have gone on to lead successful careers in the nail industry. The Nguyen Family’s work connects to Tippi Hedren, the 2014 Legacy Award honoree, who introduced Vietnamese women to nail artistry.

The Legacy Award has expanded in 2025 to reflect Beauty Changes Lives’ mission of recognizing more trailblazers in Hair, Nails, and Wellness. Past recipients include industry icons Horst Rechelbacher, Jane Wurwand, and Sydell & Arnold Miller.
